Locally, we work in Dover, Somersworth, Barrington, Farmington, Milton, and other communities in the Seacoast and Lakes Region — and we also travel to Vermont, Massachusetts, and beyond. We specialize in outdoor residential concrete -- specifically pool patios, walkways, and stamped concrete surfaces. Whether you need a durable pool deck, a welcoming front entry path, or a decorative stamped finish that mimics natural stone or brick, these are the projects we do best. We focus on this core set of services so we can deliver the highest quality on every job.

Our primary focus is residential work -- homeowners who want to improve their outdoor spaces with quality concrete. That said, if you have a commercial project in mind, feel free to reach out and we can discuss whether it's a good fit.

Yes. Patriot Concrete is fully insured to protect both our crew and your property. We take the business side of things just as seriously as the concrete itself, so you can feel confident hiring us for your project.

Process & Timeline

Most residential projects -- pool patios, walkways, and stamped concrete -- take between 2 to 5 days depending on size, complexity, and weather. We'll give you a clear timeline during your estimate so there are no surprises.

It starts with a phone call or form submission. From there:

  1. Free on-site estimate -- We visit the property, discuss your goals, and take measurements.
  2. Clear proposal -- You receive a detailed quote with scope, timeline, and pricing.
  3. Site preparation -- We handle excavation, grading, and forming.
  4. Pour & finish -- Concrete is poured, finished to spec, and stamped or textured if applicable.
  5. Final walkthrough -- We review the finished project with you and provide care instructions.

Our season typically runs from spring through late fall, when conditions are best for proper curing. We start booking early in the year, so reaching out in winter is a great way to lock in your spring spot.

Yes. We handle the full scope of work including excavation, grading, forming, and pouring. If your project requires a permit, we'll guide you through the process and let you know exactly what's needed before we start.

You can typically walk on new concrete after 24 to 48 hours. For heavier use -- furniture, vehicles, or full foot traffic -- we recommend waiting about 7 days. Full strength is reached at approximately 28 days. We'll give you specific instructions based on your project.

Our Services

Stamped concrete is poured the same way as regular concrete, but before it fully sets, patterns and textures are pressed into the surface to mimic the look of stone, brick, or slate. It's then colored and sealed for a high-end decorative finish that's more affordable than natural materials.

We offer a wide range of stamp patterns including natural stone, ashlar slate, cobblestone, herringbone brick, wood plank, and more. For color, we use integral color, color hardener, and antiquing release agents to match or complement your home's exterior. We'll help you choose the right combination during your consultation.

Pool patios face unique challenges -- constant water exposure, bare-foot traffic, sun and heat, and the need for proper drainage. We address these by using slip-resistant textures, lighter-colored finishes that stay cooler underfoot, strategic grading for drainage, and reinforcement designed to handle freeze-thaw cycles. It's the same quality concrete, but engineered for the demands of a pool environment.

Absolutely. Walkways can be customized with stamped patterns, decorative borders, exposed aggregate, or colored concrete. A brushed finish is the most common and affordable, but many homeowners choose to add a stamped border or contrasting edge to create more visual interest. We'll help you find the right balance between style and budget.

In most cases, we recommend removing old concrete before pouring new. This ensures proper base preparation, drainage, and long-term durability. Pouring over existing slabs can lead to cracking and adhesion problems down the road. During your estimate, we'll evaluate the existing surface and advise on the best approach for your specific situation.

Pricing & Payment

Every project is different, so pricing depends on size, design, and site conditions. We provide free on-site estimates with a clear breakdown -- no hidden fees, no pressure. Give us a call at (603) 312-8284 and we'll set up a time to take a look.

Yes, 100%. We come to your property, take measurements, discuss your vision, and provide a detailed quote -- all at no cost and no obligation. We believe in earning your business through honest communication and quality work, not pressure tactics.

Yes, stamped concrete typically costs more than a standard brushed finish because of the additional labor, materials (color, release agents, sealant), and skill required. However, it's still significantly more affordable than natural stone, brick, or pavers -- and requires less maintenance over time. It's a smart way to get a high-end look without the high-end price.

We accept checks and major forms of payment. A deposit is typically required to secure your spot on the schedule, with the balance due upon completion. We'll go over all payment details in your proposal so there are no surprises.

Care & Maintenance

Regular cleaning with a hose or pressure washer keeps concrete looking fresh. For stamped or decorative concrete, we recommend resealing every 2-3 years to protect the color and finish. We'll walk you through care instructions when the project is complete.

Concrete is a natural material and minor hairline cracks can occur over time -- that's normal. However, proper site preparation, adequate thickness, reinforcement, and strategically placed control joints significantly reduce the risk of structural cracking. We take all of these steps on every project. New England weather is tough, but well-installed concrete handles it.

We recommend avoiding rock salt and chemical deicers, especially during the first winter. These products can cause surface scaling and damage the finish over time. Sand is a safe alternative for traction. After the first year, if needed, use a concrete-safe calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) product sparingly.

We recommend resealing stamped concrete every 2 to 3 years to maintain color vibrancy and protect the surface from stains, UV exposure, and wear. The exact timing depends on foot traffic and sun exposure. A freshly sealed surface looks noticeably sharper and stays protected longer.

When properly installed and maintained, a concrete patio, walkway, or pool deck can last 25 to 30 years or more -- even in New Hampshire's tough climate. The key factors are proper base preparation, adequate thickness, quality materials, and ongoing maintenance like resealing decorative surfaces. We build every project with longevity in mind.
